ABOUT wAtelier
wAtelier, a multilingual architectural and interior design firm founded in 2016, services clients worldwide on commercial, residential, and hospitality projects.
As an energetic international team, we offer solutions that address owner identity, practicality, and engagement of the space with its natural, urban, and social contexts. We give full attention to detail from code requirements to construction documentation and supervision.
wAtelier was founded by Mieko Watanabe (M.Arch, Yale University). Previously, she worked at several boutique architecture firms in Tokyo. She has taught and lectured on architecture, urban planning, and photography at Kanazawa Institute of Technology, IES Abroad Tokyo, Temple University, University of Tennessee, and Domus Academy. She has also served on various design juries, including L'École de design Nantes Atlantique, Frame Awards, and The City College of New York.
TOKYO DESIGN COLLABORATIVE (TDC)
To address the needs of higher-end, design-intensive projects, wAtelier teams up with such experts as Frank la Rivière, Architects, Giuseppe de Francesco, and others. Designers, researchers, consultants, and engineers come together to offer an integrated, customized solution. We believe that good design is possible with the right set of skills, sensibilities, and energy throughout a project.
